Since we started Book Rotation Fred has really been into his books. Some nights we can’t get away until we have read three books at bedtime. We now use his good behaviour as a way of treating him to books. When the postman comes with a parcel it really lights up his wee face. So you can imagine the delight when Granny Franny’s Big Red Bus landed on the mat.

Granny Franny’s Big Red Bus is written by Sonia Beldom. Who fulfilled her childhood ambition at the young age of 55. Driving a Big Red Bus around London has become her second job- Well until Covid-19 struck. So she decided to write a children’s book loosely based on her bus-driving experiences.

Fighting Homelessness

This book is the perfect way for Sonia to raise money for the charity Buses4homeless who are a low cost, holistic solution to homelessness. They refurbish decommissioned buses into spaces for Eating, Sleeping, Wellbeing and Learning in order to re-engage homeless people back into the community.

The book itself is a colourful and bright 28 page paperback. Join in on the adventure with Granny Franny as she does her best to make Sunday Fun day FUN! Granny Franny isn’t a boring Granny NO WAY! She is full of exciting ideas and full of determination. Does she really buy a big red bus for her grandchildren? can she even Drive a bus? and who on earth is Thinkerbell? You must buy this book to find out.

Fred really enjoyed this book and he especially loved “Beeping” Thinkerbell every time we seen her throughout the book. He really brought his own imagination to life and it was lovely to see him so excited and involved in the book. I probably know the book from start to finish. Fred is eagerly awaiting a second storybook from Sonia.
